Meet the veterinarians
About Dr. Kylie Wolf
Growing up, my mom worked as a hospice nurse, so you could say that end-of-life care is in my blood. Though it may sound odd, our dinner conversations often centered around the families she was helping, including patients who had passed away. I developed a level of comfort around the idea of death and gained a unique perspective and appreciation for the peace that quality end-of-life care provides patients and their loved ones.
While I am not one of those doctors who always knew they were going to be a veterinarian, I have always loved animals as well as math, science, problem-solving, and art—the hands-on aspects of veterinary medicine, such as surgery, can be quite an art! I realized that veterinary medicine encompassed all of my passions and began to pursue a career in the field.
I believe that animals deserve the same peace my mom provided for her patients at the end of their life. Both of my childhood dogs passed away while I was at veterinary school, and not being present for their final moments still makes my heart ache. That experience fueled my desire to provide pets with quality end-of-life care in a comfortable, intimate environment while supporting families during a very difficult time.
I’ve explored many paths during my veterinary schooling and career, I even considered dairy cattle work at one point. I ultimately settled into general practice, working with dog and cat patients, and I found that one of my favorite parts of working in a clinic setting was the connection I was able to make with families during their time of need. Over the years, I’ve discovered that my greatest passion is helping others, and I am honored to be in a position to provide pets and their families with a peaceful end-of-life experience.
In my free time, you can find me spaying and neutering shelter animals or whipping up a batch of custom-decorated sugar cookies with my handsome hound, Mickey, supervising. He also takes a front-row seat when I care for the small jungle of houseplants in my home. When it’s not cold or snowy, I enjoy taking pictures of flowers and animals in nature.
